3 REASONS WHY PEOPLE LOVE ANDAMAN SEA

The Andaman Sea is the eastern-most part of the Indian Ocean, located west of Thailand. It’s one of the most popular locations for tourists all over the world since there are many beautiful islands and fine, sandy beaches everywhere along the western shore that touches it. The Andaman Sea is one of the primary sources of Thailand’s annual income. People from all over the world have made this place their preferred destination.

For those who don’t think that the Andaman Sea is the right place for your next vacation, here are three reasons why you should think otherwise:

1. Swim with the FishesThe Andaman Sea is practically a bay that reaches from the south of Myanmar all the way down to Malaysia. The sea off the shore off the west of Thailand is incredibly rich with biodiversity. This is due to its positioning and the tides that bring in the nutrients and resources from the open ocean. There are many coral reef structures along the shoreline. This explains why some of the best diving sites in the world are located in the Andaman Sea. Sustainability has been an issue for Thailand in the past However, with the efforts from all sides, the area has seen massive improvements in recent years.
We have seen some resurgence of animals that were highly rare such as some rare species of sea turtles like the leatherbacks and dugongs or sea cows. Additionally, there has been an increase in the sightings of large marine creatures such as manta rays and whale sharks compared to the past decade. This is a sign that we have to keep making an effort to see even greater results in the future.

2. Enjoy the Aquatic ActivitiesThe climate in Thailand is perfect for marine activities such as wakeboard, parasailing, surfing, and kayaking. Phuket is the prime location for these activities since the water surrounding the island is consistent throughout the year. For example, the tide in the southwestern shore of Phuket is typically more aggressive than that in the east. The reason for this is that side of the island faces only the open ocean. This makes these areas with strong current ideal for experienced surfers. They will be able to catch bigger waves and ride it out, while the calmer waters are perfect for beginners. Although it may not be anything like Honolulu or Bondi Beach, it’s still an excellent place for someone who wants to lose himself to the wind and water. It is also the best place to come and enjoy what the Andaman Sea has to offer.

3. Island AdventuresThe Southeast Asia region is known for its biodiversity and natural wonders. Therefore, there won’t be a shortage of exciting adventures when you’re here. The same is true for Phuket and the other provinces that are connected to the Andaman Sea. There are many places you can go to and things you can do that will keep you wanting for more. For example, you can come down to Koh Ta Poo, or one what the locals call “James Bond Island,” since this is where “The Man with the Golden Gun” was filmed in 1974. The limestone structures that extend up from the water surface makes for a fantastic sight to behold and the crystal clear water in the bay makes it an exotic and iconic location that you won’t soon forget.

Of course, we can’t mention the Andaman Sea without talking about Koh Phi Phi. This is one of the most famous islands in all of Southeast Asia. The abundance of life both in the sea and land in these islands make the archipelago one of the most memorable places you will ever see. Lastly, the Phang Nga Bay is where you will get to see the best that the Andaman Sea has to offer. Its emerald-green water and tall cliffs will make you feel like you’re embraced by a beautiful fortress built by Mother Nature herself.
